Found this years ago while digging behind our 1952 garage? Any Ideas? Glass Insulator? Spigot?

x2 for the wire insulator. It looks like the broken portion would be your wall mount and with the size I would guess interior for a building?

Former owner was a HAM radio operator, had a huge antenna on the side of the garage… maybe something to do with that?

My house had a couple of those glass insulators with a wire strung between them in the basement. It was an antenna for radio. House was built in 1925.

Bingo.. think that's it, house was full of old wires and radio equipment when we bought it. Thanks guys, makes sense.

Radio antenna insulator. I have a bunch. Some were colored glass too.

Update: I ran a reverse image search on the glass shard I had found... and Google came up with this!
Not an insulator after all... but a candy container in the shape of an old phone.

Possible though, the ham radio guy actually used it as a wire insulator. Ever think of that?
