You got that right. What do they call these types of news stories? Wierd News?
 
Mean Groundhogs.

When I was around 8, a friend and I got chased down the railroad tracks by a ferocious groundhog. ( I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that we cornered it against a stack of RR ties and were throwing rocks at it.) The beast started hissing and charged us. We ran a good half mile down the tracks without looking back. (I'm sure it ran a good 5 feet) Later in my youth I learned from another groundhog that they don't appreciate rock salt being thrown on their tails either.

In short I agree with Redneck. The groundhog is a mean critter not to be trifled with.
 
If you have some kind of local animal control, call them. They might let you borrow a live trap. Our town dog catcher let me borrow a trap when I had armadillo and possum problems.

I'm surprised you don't know the difference between a rat and a possum :lol:(no offense).
It's defenatly a possum,i've seen them plenty of times eating the cat food on our deck,and by the look of your pic,it's a small one.
If you don't want to kill it,buy one of those live traps,otherwise go to Wallmart,buy a pellet gun and shoot it (personally i'd shoot it).
 
Epi, it was a gopher on Caddyshack, not a groudhog. That's one of my favorites, a true classic! Carol, I don't know anything about these little critters, except to BE CAREFUL around them! Good luck!
 
i hate those meeses to peeces....... :D :D :D by the hole,, i would say possum too... and if it's a female,, she came in for a reason....babies

That tree rat hits the tree pretty hard ;)
 
CarolK Ive got a great idea. :!: About a dozen of us come up with shotguns,sit around and wait for the little bugger, and then..................... :D

If I was a "profiler", I would have to say that after reading this "blog" we have some pretty sick individuals out there. Why would anyone get pleasure by hurting an animal? If you don't like animals, leave them alone. Don't own one, don't feed the wild ones, don't go looking to find one. I personally cannot imagine a world without them so I encourage them to live in my environment as I do in theirs. I have planned my house and property to be animal friendly. I have trees and bushes for cover, shade and nesting. I build tons of birdhouses and love the spring when they argue over who moves in :lol: We take so much of this planet for ourselves, it would not hurt us to give something back to the residents that were here BEFORE us :yes:
 
Thanks guys! I am not a "Peta" supporter or any other kind of animal advocate. I do know what is right and what is wrong :yes:
