Platinum...Mmm...

Thanks Scubacat...

Sweet weighty platinum! Nice when a short hunt turns up the precious, especially when it’s been awhile. Congrats!

Life and work are first then Covid hit and they closed down the beaches why I don't know especially as I am a cold season hunter...

Very nice finds Craig, good to see you finally got out again. Congrats on the plat!

Thanks Cellr.... I have been using lidar to find out in woods cellar holes that aren't on water land... its kept me interested detecting wise

The Platinum still eludes me. It will be mine someday. I have taken a bunch of time off this season due to health related stuff. Welcome back to the hunt Craig! They may not be often, but the quality time is well spent there. Happy hunting!

I like Plat but I like gold better...

My beaches are old school just like me  Sorry Felix pennies don't grow there...

Nice ring. Hope you got excited when you picked it up and realized it wasn't silver from the weight.

I knew it wasn't even gold when I picked it up I was just hoping it wasn't a new metal like tungsten its a small ring I put the dime inside it...

I'm glad to see plat has increased in value some... I can remember when it was higher than gold...

I was thinking of trying a new old beach today... I don't like to hit a spot 2 days in a row... I'll decide after work and it depends on the wind... yesterday was a neutral... tide but the winds pushed the water way out... I look for these types of days... high winds from west push water out and allow hunting... I laugh at these guys who think when its windy you can't hunt... its the best time to hunt...

Saw this and had to log on. It's time to list that Equinox in your signature Craig...how long have you had it:laughing: Nice to find rocks to hunt, there's nothing but sand here the last couple years which I won't waste the time on. Big congrats on the big plat!

Thanks for outing me

I have had it what a year and a half...

I haven't been hunting really a few dirt hunts... thing loves bottlecaps its why it will never replace my Excal... its not as deep as my Excal either... its ok though I just wish Minelab put a sturdier arm cuff thing reminds me of a Ace 250 arm cuff

Nice finds! That platinum ring is a chonker! I've never found platinum - what does it ring up as?

Good to see you're still swinging despite what life throws at you. Good luck and HH!

It can vary I guess... a friend said his rings up at a 4 or 5 this one rang up as 15...

Nox

:D Agree with the Captain :pirate: that Is A a secret weapon not in your signature , we're even for cheating  , OBN you didn't tell me he went Noxy  :pirate2::secret::sneaking::sneaking::sneaking::sneaking::sneaking::sneaking::sneaking::sneaking::boxing::wow2:

I hunted 90 minutes... I went out for a short hunt at a beach... its only my second hunt in 19 months... been busy with life...

Band is plat and heavy for its size.. I was hunting rocks as usual... other ring is silver as is the stud... I knew right away it wasn't gold by the weight... too bad it wasn't PD oh well scavengers can't be choosy

The green seaweed gives off a low tone when the coil goes over it...

:shock::shock::shock:

Now that you know I can leave my sig alone  I bought it for hunting in the dirt... it will never go in the water... I'm not spending more money on waterproof headphones... been doing a lot of research looking for cellar holes...

Thanks Rudy...

I found

The Equinox in dirt , was digging to much junk , as the Id is better along with the sounds on the Etrac , & CTX3030 for land hunting , The Equinox in my sand , with the 15 inch coil for covering area- in the wet & dry sand is nice , I use mine in knee deep , but not further ,knee deep also I use the 12 as it is not good in the water - the ears are to thin & flips back , I would go to the Xcal in water , a little add on Craig you will like is a R&B PWR Nox light- under the cuff , extend your standard battery life , Longer hunts , not in the water , not water proof , as far as your sig goes , I liked the Captains response , just kidding on the secret weapon , you probably have more machines & scoops than me under cover :jawdrop::lookclose::hide: CONGRATS chalk one up for the Nox !

I'm old and tired man... I don't want a extended battery those days are gone  I have to landscape everyday doing my clean ups... I could retire but I don't want to that means I would have to be around the wife all the time... I'm gonna keep working its my enjoyment and I get paid for it

I have 3 detectors and 2 scoops A Sunspot 720i and the Stavr scoop I got from Frank who modified it with a beefier lip, a bolt through as well as a fiberglas handle...

Congrats on the plat ring! Does it fit?

Thanks kaufenanger... yes it fits properly on my pinky... the majority of rings Felix thinks they fit don't actually fit but I pick on him enough for keeping those worthless pennies... I don't want him to think I am mean lol...

Excalibur , Equinox, and A :?::?::?::?::?::?::?::shock: Did you get one of OBNs moded AQS  Never mind you must have kept your Whites land machine .

My MXT its my go to detector it likes bottle caps as well but I only hunt private properties so I rarely deal with a lot of park type trash... I have no wants to hunt parks...

For not getting out all that often thats a nice find. :clapping:

Thanks Baja... being a winter hunter I can only hope they don't shut down beaches again... in beginning of the pandemic they closed the beaches saying they super spreader sites

Love the PLT…… cha-Ching. Nice score

Thanks Dew... I can't stop putting it in my hand  I am impressed with the weight for a small ring.. :D

Last night after work I decided to try again... it was a bust found some nickels a couple wheaties and 1 silver plus this honey spoon... cannot tell what the dime was its got 3 tiny holes in it def only worth melt...

I should have stayed home wind was blowing in so tide did not go out like it did day of hunt...
