I’ve been using the Simplex Plus a few years now and what to upgrade. I want something that works in dry and wet conditions, proven track record, best bang for the buck, preferably used and has more options/ versatility. Let me know what you think.

Well you pretty much just stated a Legend, which would do everything you want to do, I also have a Simplex Plus, the Legend runs rite there with the Equinox Line, but is much cheaper than the Equinox line, the Legend is fully water proof and also has a proven track record, I do not detect beaches but everyone that does they have great things to say about the Legend, I own two Legends and like them a lot great depth runs vary stable and hits the targets good.

here is a video that you should watch, it may help you to decide which detector is best LOL

If you like the Notka, go with the Legend, I'm new to hobby, but the Legend doesn't lie. Hits every piece of metal and I can tell if it's a penny nickel dime or a pull tap. Easy as it gets.

Nokta makes great stuff.
Having said that I would have to add that the Legend might be too new to have a "proven record".
It also seems presumptuous to name a completely new machine Legend.

Legends develop over long period of time, like the Legend of Wyatt Earp.

I am not poo pooing it though.
I got an email offer of the Legend with both the stock and 6" coils, a Nokta pinpointer (have one, works fine), Nokta digger (great digger, serrations on both sides), finds bag, cap, pinpointer holder, etc for under $700.

That is very tempting.

Ps and a spare battery.
Battery life of my Simplex is great, assume the same for the Legend.
