I was taking advantage of the cold weather providing me with some spare time to go through and tumble some of the flat buttons I had found. I was surprised to see this pop out.. Ya never know...

I've seen a few other detectorists come up with these AJ campaign buttons as well. What a cool piece of history, glad it "Appeared" in your tumbler.

That's incredible - to unearth a piece of United States history from the campaign of its 7th president! Great find.From the picture, it looks to me like the lettering is on the back of the button, where the shank is attached. I wonder why the lettering wouldn't be on the front?
