I went back to a site where I found some civil war relics and a couple of coins at a old home site. This time I started out with a couple of flat buttons. I as so found half of a two piece button. Lucky it’s the front side. Its not in good shape it looks like it got hit several times by the plow. It’s a New York Excelsior button. This is the second one I have found and they are both smashed. I guess they all can’t be perfect.😃

The thing, the great thing about living in your area is that you are in the epicenter of American history. Man oh man, i would be digging every beep, because you never know. Good for you my friend, smashed or not, that is a piece of american history.

Yes this area is has a lot of American history. Colonial, Rev war, Civil war and everything in between. I love digging ever signal. I started metal detecting thinking I could find old coins. I didn’t know how much history there was to find. I’m having a lot of fun!
