Found in a field with coins from 1881 to present. An Ox shoe, harmonica reed and other items from old to modern.
I found that the abbreviated name belonged to a man from our neighborhood born in 1872 and died in 1952. He was a retired school teacher but newspaper articles show that he was a farmer in the 1940’s working on soil conservation. This rivet like item has his abbreviated name and the name of our town. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Is the inside of that stem threaded?
Possibly a hand saw button??

livestock ear tag ?
Makes sense. I just looked at 100’s of pics on various Google image searches and cannot find a ear tag similar.
I can see on the ‘post’ of the item, striations like it was pressed into another piece tightly, like you would expect on an ear tag. I’m gonna search historical local papers to see if anyone advertised custom tags.
Thanks

T.S. of Ghent has been identified. Here is his wedding photo from 1898 and he lived in a house at the end of my road until 1952 when he died., although a teacher he must have farmed the property here and this embossed piece surely was related to farming, having been found in a field
