Old Rivet?

This was dug in an area where I have dug older items.
Looks like a letter or symbol on the flat side. Maybe (C) or similar.
Maybe other writing along the edge. Possibly but not very clear.
Thought maybe an old rivet for clothing?
Any thoughts?

Most likely horse tac. There where a lot used in farming. I hate them dam things, because they sound so good in the ground.

Horse tack is my guess. I found one last week on a known horse trail.
