Well, yes they are available from several dealers / sources in the USA.
"Main stream"? There are a lot of 'dealers' who will order in or have dop-shipped just about any make or model detector they represent. Very few actually 'stock' detectors unless they are something like Cabela's, Sportsman's Warehouse, Scheels, and so on. And we don't have a lot of so-called 'local' dealers like the good old days. Most seem to deal out of their home or just via the internet, a lot do not have a website, and sadly many do not really know their products of how to set them up or even detect.
I even looked up "main-stream" Minelab Dealers near me by my zip code in Utah, and other than big box stores, most do not have a website. Those I called do not have stock but could order. We just do not have the number sof avid dealer who want to sell and promote detecting and help consumers like we used to. Instead we have few dealers, and Distributors who do not promote products to dealers. Just too many discounters without any after-the-sale service.
Me? I am impressed with the Quest line, especially the X5, X10, X10 Pro, Q30, Q40 and Q60 when compared with all the other competition out there. I am sure that they sill address any bugs in the new V80 and give us an SMF unit that will also satisfy folks. My sons and I might even take on the Quest line because they do work well, are a sturdy design, and very competitive in price.
