Ive been looking at videos and reviews for days. Has anyone put the FPulse up against the Quest Max? Not just air test, but like paystreak, get it down in the dirt.

I know the TRX will probably never be matched. I know paystreak loved his old TRX.
It seems the Quest or Fpulse is the next best option. Am I Right/wrong, better option out there?
I like what I'm seeing on the quest with the options it features.

I'm looking for ground Punch before I dig.
Pinpoint, not general area 360. Fast on/off.

Also and lastly, looking for something to behave well with the Legend.

I never used the quest- I have used garrett pro pointer, TRX, F-Pulse, ML pro 40 and xp ML6. Fpulse is still one of my favorite for punching through mineralized ground.

I love the FPulse. The originals needed their caps replaced due to weak battery springs.
I have an original and a later release and they work identically now.

Before putting too much value on Paystreaks info, check his hunting style and methods to see if they align with your own.

Lastly, whichever pin pointer you get....
When you're ready to hunt, turn on the pin pointer, then noise cancel on your detector.
After the noise cancel do a quick ground balance/ground grab/coil pump.

Your detecting day will be a lot less noisy.

That is excellent advice.

It didn't take me long to discover that the noise cancel on SMF detectors typically doesn't do sh-t. But, the noise cancel works amazing when it comes to the narrowband frequency of pinpointers.

Super great info. Again, another, I should have known that. 🤦.

I tried that today with the legend and my Dr Otek MT6 Pro. It really helped.

I have the F Pulse, Nokta Pulse Dive, original Garrett Pro Pointer and the Quest X Pointer Max that comes with the Magic Holster.

out of all the pin pointers I own the Quest X Pointer Max with the Magic Holster is my favorite of all of them
Depth wise the X Pointer Max is close to the F Pulse, and yes I have done side by side in ground testing between all of the pin pointers I own

my issue with the F Pulse is it is not loud enough in volume, you can barely hear it, also the vibration feature is not much better, also the other issue I have is it is very easy to inadvertently change settings in the F Pulse
The F Pulse as far as performance it is not a bad pin pointer and if it were not for the things I mentioned most likely I would be using it more than I do

I like the Nokta Pulse Dive also but the size and the weight of the Nokta Pulse Dive is the things I do not like, the Pulse dive is very large for a pin pointer and very heavy for a pin pointer

I've never had any of those problems with my F-Pulse.

Thank you Ye OldKoot😊.
That is just what I needed to put me over the edge and into trouble with the wife. I just ordered the Quest XPointer Max from Walmart. $99.34 shipping tax and all.

I may gift the Dr Otek to a friend who bought a simplex lite and a Hazlewolke Metal Detector Pinpointer that is not that strongand you almost have to be touching anything with it to find it.

I love the Otek alot but this Quest just looks better to me.

Well as far as being a good pin pointer the F Pulse is but the volume of the tone on mine is very weak and the vibration mode is not very good either other than that I actually like the F Pulse the other thing about the F Pulse like I stated it is very easy to inadvertently change the settings in it if you hold the button to long, I could have gotten past the changing settings but the weak volume and weak vibration I could not

as I stated the X Pointer Max with the Magic Holster is my favorite pin pointer of the four I currently have, the one with the Magic Holster is the newest X Pointer max out it came out in 2023 I actually own the first version of the X Pointer max also i liked it so much that I ended up purchasing the new Version X Pointer max with the Magic Holster, I was going to purchase the new Nokta Accupoint also but I have no use for a pin pointer that connects to the headphones as I do not even use the over the ear headphones that came with the Legend, so that one feature was not even a consideration for me to purchase the new Accupoint

I hope you ordered the one with the Magic holster because that is a great added feature, that magic holster when you go out to detect after you have set everything up in the X Pointer Max, just turn the X pointer max on and then re holster it with it still powered on, the Magic holster puts the X Pointer Max into stand by mode and it is ready to use, you pull it out of the holster and it automatically turns back on ready to pin point then once you have located your target leave it on and re holster it you never have to fiddle with the buttons until you are finished detecting for the day then just power it off at the end of your detecting session, that magic holster is a great feature, that one thing is the only difference between the older version X pointer max and the new for 2023 version X Pointer max

I suggested to Nokta to add that feature like the Magic Holster to the new Accupoint but I guess it fell on deaf ears because they never added that feature other than not being able to connect the X pointer Max to your headphones the X pointer max and the Accupoint have the same features, I have heard good things about the accupoint and bad things about the accupoint, in fact a friend of mine that got in on the beta test units of the accupoint does not like the accupoint at all he says it is no better than a cheap Chinese knock off but i have heard other people say it is the best pin pointer they have ever used and that is how I feel about the X Pointer Max it is the best pin pointer I have ever used, the discrimination works great it has a different tone for ferrous and non ferrous that works great and also visual ID for ferrous and non ferrous that works great also, it is a very sensitive pin pointer and probably has the loudest volume of any pin pointer I have ever used, plus the vibration feature works great, setting the x Pointer Max up is easy once you learn it and with that magic holster you never have to touch the buttons while out detecting, the one and only thing I do not like about the X Pointer Max with the Magic Holster is the buttons are pretty hard to push but once you have it set up the way you want it you only have to push one of the buttons to turn it on when you go out to detect

I think you will like it a lot once you start using it

Great info. So which pinpointer is your favorite to use, the one you use the most?
I really likes the fpulse because it did not false as much in my soil. The other pinpointers, some worse than others, would false on the high iron in the soil. I use the MI6 exclusively because i like that it syncs to my headphones thru the deus 2. So far with the MI6 I am cery happy and haven’t noticed any falsing like I had with the TRX and garret propointer. The ML was ok but did false a bit.

I have been using the original xpointer for years and love it. It is a pulse induction pinpointer and does not false as do the garrets pointers. It is deep too! I may have to look at the xpointer max though.

Thank you, yes it is. Looking forward to getting it now.
Well, it came in and does not have the magic holster. I WILL NOT keep it without it. I know good and well on the website when I bought it, in the description it said with magic holster. Well it's magical alright, it doesn't say it anywhere on the website now. I have no way to prove otherwise, Bummer. If the buttons weren't so hard to press I would say forget it and keep it. It's going back. If I can locate the right one at a good price I'll reorder. I may be going to the FPulse after all.

I quit holsters for pinpointers 10 years go, but I keep getting a holster with pointers over the years. All still brand new. I just found them a PITA to put on and use. "To each their own." I sure have an array of closeted holsters now. I personally would not discard the actual pointer because it was missing a belt holster. IMO, they will send you one if you bug them.

What is magic about this one?

This is a special holster that puts the pointer into standby so you don't have to cut it on and off. I'm not sure, but I believe the unit itself is also supposed to be an updated version. So i think I would need more than just the new holster to make it standby.

One of those magnets that hang on the door of a refrigerator will put it into standby mode

I have been trying to figure out a way to attach a magnet to the pin pointer holder on my Garrett pouch so I do not have to use the holster that came with the Magic Holster i have tried several different magnets and have only found one that was strong enough to put the X Pointer Max into stand by mode and that was one of those little round magnets that goes on a refrigerator door about 3/4 of an inch in diameter

I have some rare earth 80 pound pull magnets I know would absolutely work but I do not know whether that strong of a magnet would damage it so I have not tried one yet LOL
