Possible Buckle Piece?

Found this in a Massachusetts forest near old abandoned pasture land that has gone back to forest. I know it’s incredibly small but I cannot stop thinking it’s the corner of a brass buckle of some sort. It’s mostly green but also has a seam running down it as you can see from the picture of the side of it. Any help is appreciated.

It doesn’t look like a shoe buckle piece to me. But it’s got some good color to it. So it has some age. Something you just don’t know.
