What is this?

[Diggin'FoFun]

I found this while digging and cannot figure out what it is. Originally, it was found in 2 pieces (barely) the ring piece and the pin looking piece were laying close in proximity. The picture with the short piece was cleaned (accidentally broken) and looks strange, not sure what to think. I put the item together to show what I think it may have originally looked like but who knows. I am brand new to metal detecting so any information would be appreciated.

Looks like a circle buckle but it is pretty small...

Wow it may be, this is an old cabin sight (cabin no longer there) in the hills of Virginia.
