Not a dumb question at all. A lot of people here have tip covers on their PP's I don't as I don't dig with my pin pointer. The ones that do probably leave them on all the time.-sorry for being so dumb but I gotta ask.
interesting never thought of this stuff next time I am a H.F. I think I'll pick some up and try itNo cap used, but I did coat my pp tip in this. One year and it's still there.

Copy that! My opinion is the PP is only for getting you very close, not for digging. I move a tiny amount of dirt around from time to time but jabbing and digging......NOT!I wouldn't treat my equipment like that.

This is what I have used for years.Home depot and plastic chair leg caps of the right size.
