Maybe he heard that I am bringing out a revolutionary (like nothing anywhere in the world) handle in a 2-3 months.

Chuck

A handle like nothing anywhere in the world? Made out of cooked pasta, woven into a rope?

Maybe jello.

An invisible one? :)

Made out of a witch (so that it will float)??

LOL

Looking forward to seeing it.

I think we should start guessing.. My guess is Carbon fiber, shaped like your fingers can slide into it or wrap around it.. almost like brass knuckles, maybe? I do hope it's hollow so I can put a PP/Disc switch on it.

And I do hope it's does not light up.. or have a light..

Anyone else want to guess
?

Id

Like an easy fold up style with easy locks , simular to like the ctx3030 , with a folding down telescopic rest stand open/ fold style...

Carbon fiber, diamond shaped, with a beer holder:lol: Hopefully it isn't a carbon fiber with adjustable rear weight for coil change balance. Or an offset at the rear for a counter balance. I already thought of that years ago:lol:

who knows maybe a "Barry's DetectorRods" will pop up and start selling the same thing you had.

I think what Chuck is getting at is the "patent" thingy... Which means nothing really, a little change here a little change there and its finished if it would hold up in the first place.
But I am intrigued about this shaft that nobody has thought of or made before.

I have seen the products but Chuck asked me to not say anything about them and I will not...

I have experimented with bike grips and more importantly ski pole handles with a hook or the full loop enabling the user to swing with just 1 finger if desired. Some other things similar that I won't discuss.

I gave my word.

skinny shafts, skinny lower shaft, telescopic, folding , behind the elbow adjustable... its all been done and a dozen other things.

so when i hear its like nothing seen anywhere it peaks my interest.

I haven't done any serious detecting in well over a year with all these travel restrictions going on... been pretty much stuck in a concrete city.

I have , is you buy strait shafts , they go when you sell the detector , or the detector gets out dated , have CF for the equinox , Excalibur , gave the one away with the DF , so really to me , it's not really a hot item , more of a back burner item if you break your current shaft , wish Chuck luck however with his sales .

I was shown what he is doing and I gave my word that I wouldn't share what he sent me... so I have no comment

I have had this discussion with a buddy of mine a few times. A skinny oval shaft I believe would create less drag in the water. Also, if the coil were more like a smooth disc. My Sand Shark's 10.5" coil slid through the water far smoother than my CZ, Nox & Excal.

We have discussed it on here too. The idea is ok, unless there is a cross current. The cost of making the oval shaft wouldn't be practical. When I was making the skinny shaft/skinny lower shaft every part had to be custom made. I was losing cash on every shaft. Its fun inventing things and seeing them develop but at some point " the well has got to run dry".
I agree on the ss coil. Nice and thin like that it just cuts through the water. The bolts were a little shady though, everytime a wave was coming in I had to stand on the coil so it wouldn't flip up with the current.

One thing I did make but only made half a dozen or so was a lower skinny shaft that fits into the stock upper shaft. Great idea... but every clamp between shafts and the part where the washers/bolt sit had to be custom made. I still have a couple sitting here I think, if I have a chance I'll post a photo or check my old threads.
A little busy these days

I can send you a set of brass knuckles if you like or maybe you can talk Fisher into putting them on the AQ... haven't heard much about that wonder machine recently... I guess its because Fisher is going to produce what one or two to see how they sell?
