Please help to identify. Found in Central Florida with known forts and other artifacts found. If this is a number identifying someone can that be traced back to see who it belonged to? Would like to give it back to the family. Thanks for your help.

That is a very early Florida tramp stamp.

First off, welcome Great to have you here with us.
Looks like it could be a thin tin container tag. It might be a lot number. But I don't know for sure. Maybe someone else here knows exactly what it is. Good going.

Thanks. It is actually heavy like lead but a few people with more knowledge than me say it is pewter.
