My thoughts on the Nokta|Makro Simplex+ after 50 hours.

Thanks for the review. I have been using mine for a few months now and really enjoy it. Especially with the smaller SP24 coil.

I do not find the buttons to be stiff. But my detector came with a free Pulsedive pinpointer and the buttons are extremely stiff.

Luckily you can mute the detector so it doesn't chirp when you use your Garrett carrot.

You’re welcome.

Nokta did a really nice job of quickly addressing the issues that users complained about with software updates. They really do listen to feedback from their customers too.

Nice review! I have been using my Simplex for over a year, and while I have a couple of other, more expensive machines (great in their own way), I find myself reaching for the Simplex more because it's just easier to use. Sure, we can debate which machine is deeper and more versatile, but for the money, this thing is a steal!

Thanks! Yep the Simplex is a great machine at a great price point. It’s what I recommend to most people who are just getting into the hobby. A lot of bang for the buck!

I love my nox but wish I had gone for the simplex for kiddo/backup! The vanquish just not a huge fan. The next Nokta I will probably purchase. My wife is willing to have one now so an excuse for 3 lol.

Love my Simplex+ with the SP24 coil. My only wish is they would have made it so it saved the frequency shift on startup. F2, the default, messes with my Garrett Carrot so I have to change to F1 each time I start up. Although, it isn't so bad since I ground balance before every hunt anyway, so I'm in the setting so the start up is a quick 30 second job.

i just mute the detector while i use the carrot.

but you gotta remember to "unmute" it or you will go a long time waiting for the next signal!

I've thought about getting a Simplex, to have a decent waterproof detector without spending $500+! Great read/review, thank you!

I did just that! No way I'm using my Equinox 800 in water seeing how many got flooded! Also it's now out of warranty. Now I use the inexpensive Simplex worry-free in local lakes.
