Minelab X-Tera Pro

Hey there,

I’m looking to get something a little bit more than just a basic Dr Oteck type. What are your recommendations? The E-Tera pro is popping up on some research I’m doing…. Is the hype real? Or is it just a matter of preference?

Any advice on a good priced detector would be appreciated, I’m trying to stay on a budget and still have some nice things. As we all are I’m sure.

Is the hype real?

Its real. The X-Terra Pro is a great buy at the $269 list price. Be advised, you don't get headphones with the base package but you can pick up some fairly inexpensive wired sets or even a wireless headset/transmitter. I find the machine comparable to the ML Vanquish (although not SMF) but with a lot more adjustable features, ground balance and proven to be waterproof when fully submerged. I bought mine for a back-up machine but have not been able to put it down all summer. It has paid for itself in finds. Good luck!

Yes the Xterra pro is an excellent detector minus the headphones. The Simplex Ultra cost more , but comes with wireless headphones. it is an excellent entry level detector.
