I have already come to the conclusion that metal detecting is something I'm gonna stick with for a while. I bought the Land Ranger Pro be cause it wasn't expensive, had mostly good reviews, and would let me try this hobby out. It only took a month, but mission accomplished. I went ahead and ordered an Equinox 600. With gift cards I got from work it only cost me 200 out of pocket, which is 70 less than I paid for the Bounty Hunter. I just think I would rather learn a much more capable machine since I'm basically starting from scratch. And now I have an extra detector so I can take people with me without them having to buy in. Can't wait for next weekend.

Good for you! The 600 is a great machine to take you to the next level.
You can go forward with the basic programs and with experience down the road delve into the deep features to enhance your detecting.

Follow the classifieds here to find accessories for it. Sooner or later you will want more coils.

I think the 6 inch coil would be great for the old house I have been going to. Lots of nails and pieces of fencing. I’m sure there is some good stuff hiding in there.

This really is a friendly forum. When you make a post about something you just got on most forums it seems like everyone just wants to tell you your an idiot and bought the wrong stuff.

Congrats on the Nox 600! I have had good luck with mine.Once I put the 6 inch coil on it I liked it even more!

Gratz! I bet most of us started on bounty hunters or some other no name detectors. The nox is a great machine and I know you will find amazing things with it.

Awesome detector! And if you ever go on vacation to a salt beach you are good to go. I ran the 800 for years at the beach. Found a lot of gold and silver with it.

Good choice.
The amount of settings on the 600 align with my style of hunting.
Once you learn the presets well enough, it's easy to tweak the settings to go back over your good sites and pull out stuff you initially missed.

Good luck with your new machine.
Remember to show us your finds.
Hopefully have something real soon. Just getting started with my first hunt with it.

There has to be some coins hiding somewhere. Clean that junk out out, go back and listen for those sweet tones. Cool looking area!
