I lost a ring of my father's ages ago, and I'd really like to try and find it. I know it's in a wide creek bed (<5' deep) that has become well overgrown in the last 25 years. I'd just like some advice on detectors to look at. I'm not looking to spend thousands, but give me your best/go-tos if you would be so kind. Thank you!

Instead of buying a detector, why not put a post on this forum to find an experienced detectorist to attempt to find the ring for you. If you have no experience detecting, it might be cheaper and quicker. This is the "friendly" forum and a forum member in your area may come out at no charge just for the challenge. Five feet deep and grown up can be difficult. The detector will have to be fully submerged.
