Hello All!
The wifey and I just picked up this hobby, and well it has been quite the journey so far. I initially bought her a cheap amazon PANKY detector for Christmas. It arrived with no outer box so she immediately saw it. She has always wanted one and not knowing how much money to spend on a decent entry level one I purchased that one. The day she saw it we put it together, tested it in the yard and it seemed to work fine.
We live in FL so our main search purposes were for beach dry and wet sand. Not knowing that this thing CANNOT do wet sand and chirps like a bird getting its feathers ranked I was little disappointed. I ordered myself a Garret ACE 300 the very next day as we quickly loved the thrill of the hunt and I wanted to participate in a Hobby she's interested in.
The Garret ACE 300 is a fantastic little machine, does the wet sand perfectly with sensitivity at 4 bars, I have found a bunch in the wet sand already. But me being me I immediately wanted something even better. So wifey got a instant upgrade the ACE 300 and I purchased the Vanquish 540. It just arrived so tomorrow night will be the first go with it.
We are rather young and love the exercise the hobby brings. We would love to meet others from south Florida that enjoy the hobby as well. Anyhoo, that's my story, glad to be here. I did find something I am going to post up in a separate thread that I am stumped on what it is, hopefully someone can let me know.
