Hunt 1 of Korea

Detecto I hope you are planning to hit this beach over there.

Lived in Seoul from 1991-1993. I know... LAST CENTURY. LOL

Hope you're having a blast enjoying the country. Based on your post, it sounds like you're just visiting for a while. I always loved Seoul on the US Holidays, because none of the Koreans got them off. We always went to amusement parks, and would literally run around and hit the line again (and be 1st in line). We rode one roller-coaster 17 times in a row. LOL

Hope you find some of that elusive 22K gold in your hunts at the beach!

Cheers!

If I can find 12 fake rings and 8 plated silver in my grandma's house, aunt's house, and cousin's house, I'm in for a lot of plated stuff...

Did you ever wonder with a beach that crowded and that many people crowded together in the water as to how many of them might bother getting out of the water to go find a bathroom if they needed to do "number one" ?

With that many people crowded together in the water it might be like swimming in a toilet bowl if most of them didn't bother to leave the water to find a bathroom   (same thought goes for crowded swimming pools too )

a pool at least has chlorine in it... where i live parents take their small kids down to the water to go to the bathroom... and 5ft away people are playing in the wetsand.

It'd be interesting if they had a harmless chemical they could add to the water that would change to a very noticeable color when in contact with urine, might make people think twice about swimming in public areas

Spent a year over there back in 1990. I was young and foolish. Just went out to party. Whish I had taken in more of the sights and culture instead. Have fun.

I was there 65-67 via US Army, stationed in Pusan. Great duty, was their 18 months. Plus it was not Vietnam, an added bonus. Back then a dirt poor third world country. Not so any more. very advanced in many, many ways.

I did hunt a beach yesterday, but those dang firework copper things sound just like a nice gold ring... :furious:

Haeundae, here I come!

Josh

I was stationed there (2nd ID Camp Casey) in 1985Nov-87Feb. Didn't go there to do any treasure hunting but I did find the treasure of my life, My wife of 35 years.
We've been back and forth some and the land that it once was back then is still there if you go out looking for it but the infrastructure that was built up since then has hidden the 3rd world and innocent country it once was,,, JMO.
My wife just says it's just not the same place, she regretfully says that as she has fond memories of where she came.
I hope you enjoy your time there as we always do as well.

I was in Pusan for almost 2 years back in early 1960's. Back then the Koreans would wear the higher Karat gold and heavier jewelry than Americans would wear. Not sure if that is true now. Also based on that video of the other guy finding gold in Korea, it was the heavy higher karat variety that looked more like pure gold you find when prospecting in the states.

Haeundae beach is a popular swimming beach and always was.

I'll see if I can pull up some old photos of my 2 buddies' finds from a week of hunting after the big Boryeong mud festival back in 2013. It was jaw-dropping and that's saying something with what we found on a nightly basis in Japan back then.
