My family is one of the Old Families that first settled in this area after MS became a state (1817). The land I live on is probably been in the family that long albeit a whole lot less than originally was (over 100 acres down to 1.7). So I got the multigenerational thing down pat. Btw, 1 acre of the property is detectable so I have that much to practice on.
I've got my eye on a historical place. There's an almost abandoned town that used to be the county seat. In it's heyday (1830's-40's) it had hotels, saloons, businesses, etc and was sort of a resort area for people that lived in New Orleans who would come up to escape the yellow fever and cholera outbreaks at the time. It was a river town and so when they ran the railroad through the area several miles away it started to wane. Then around 1875 they moved the seat to another town. Today there's nothing left but a few residential houses, a church, and the old courthouse. The field around the old courthouse is what I'm interested in but it is owned by the county (they use the courthouse as a voting place now).
EDIT: forgot to quote, haven't used Vbulletin in a while.
