The whole family went metal detecting yesterday afternoon at another one of our local beaches. Happens to be some trees along the border of the grass just before you hit the sand. Our 9 year old daughter spied an adult black squirrel and began to chase him in hopes of capturing him and taking him home as a pet (kids have big dreams). Said squirrel bolted up one of the trees that he considered a "safe" zone. Moments later as we (mom and dad) approached the tree, said squirrel lost his balance and fell out of the tree making a little "peep" sound as he thumped onto the sand. Stunned for a moment... he looked around to see if anyone saw, then shot off like a bullet to another area. We laughed so hard.

I have never seen a black squirrel. Grey and fox, and of course the famous white squirrels in Olney, Illinois. Now I am craving fried squirrel and gravy, but havent hunted in years. As in a previous post, the only 2 times I was snake bit was squirrel-hunting................

Squeeeeeek

Thump! I meant to do that, now throw me a peanut bozo. I don't work for nuttin. I carry a big bag of raw peanuts in my golf bag to treat the monkey squirrels at one of my local courses. Don't tell me they are dumb animals. Those little guys come running when they see me. A declawed squirrel, Must have been a sight to see. By the way, do you know what a mountain goats biggest killer is?
