The Nox is in a precarious position imo. If the Deus 2 smokes the Nox and it looks like it will on the beach. Then say, the Legend is equal to the Nox, where does that leave the Nox ?
Whichever way it goes, it will keep getting better for the consumer.
The Equinox may have competition now and be surpassed in some areas like build quality, and beach performance. The rest to be determined as we all learn what these new machines can do.
I doubt I'm going to fill under gunned on land by swinging my 800 by either of these new detectors. I think I do very well with the 800, and have a hard time picturing my finds increasing much with another detector.
I fluctuate day to day on whether I would want to invest in the Deus II. I do have my name on a list though.
That's a real problematic position.
If you don't mind spending $2000US, get the Deus2.
If you don't want to drop that much money but want a rugged, waterproof multifreq, get the Legend.
If the Legend really performs, it looks like the Equinox may be the one that's obsolete after all.
If Nokta Makro can obsolete the Equinox on their first go at SMF the company has been greatly underestimated. Time will tell.
I don't see Minelab resting on it's laurels especially if the competition gets fierce. Who knows they might have something new soon. I keep hoping they will announce a new high end detector to replace the aging Etrac and CTX sooner rather than later.
