Detecting with the kids February clad find contest (WINNER ANNOUNCED)

What a wonderful idea to get the kids involved and not forgetting us old kids as well! I think most of have a competitive streak of one sort or another? Power to you joefish72!

Well, I had to do a little work today so we didn't get out until 3pm and it was a little on the hot side, about 85 and sunny. We put in less than an hour and my daughter said she wasn't feeling well so we quit early. Our non-hunted section of field is shrinking and the area we have left is directly under some high voltage lines so we have to set the detectors at 2-3 sensitivity to keep them from going crazy. I was lucky enough to set a new personal best of 5 crushed cans found, with the deepest at 8 inches, that was with the ATpro on 3 sensativity and it came up as a tone only and then as I dug closer a solid nickel reading. The clad total for our quick hunt was $0.88 because the ace250's only pick up to about two inches with the sensativity so low. Still a fun day and a great hunt.

Sheesh, last post you said just a little more then take a break. $0.88 is just a little more,You need to be more specific.:p

Not looking too good for another hunt, daughter was sick on the weekend, son came home from school early today, and the forecast said 20% chance of showers for the rest of the week, yet it rained almost all day today.

I have one more post to make tonight, we hit the sports field for a couple hours today, will it change the leaderboard???

Well, the grand total for the last hunt in February was a whopping $0.54 because I think we have pretty much hunted this place out for a while. Tht brings the total for the month to $41.46
