Detecting with the kids February clad find contest (WINNER ANNOUNCED)

are you putting the totals in your sig? Hard to keep track.. LOL

Go back to the original post #1 all updates are in there. I'm using my signature to brag about how rich I'm getting with all my finds since I started detecting:laughing:

Still about $30 away from your guess, now just go to my favorite spot and empty your pockets.

I would if I was closer... LOL... get out and get swinging!!!! I picked that due to it is about a good average if you hit parks and schools for a month...:detector::detector:

Well it was a short 45 minute hunt just before the sun went down but we did get $0.50 in clad.

Sorry Mike, I blame the kids, I told them you were going to win and they said they just couldn't let that happen.
Just kidding and thanks for making this thrad a little more fun, better luck next time.

We got out for a couple hours today and hunted an old golf course, I spent one hour just trying to figure out the lay of the land but I could only find a couple of the old greens. Then I went to the driving range area where the building still stands and I found some button looking things, maybe ball markers but not sure why they would be in the grass by the range. On the way home we hit the sports field and came out with $0.63 in change.

Today we met up with joshpughnaples at the sports field for a couple hours of morning hunting. I got to see a minelab up close for the fist time and we all parted ways around noon. After lunch I took the kids back to see how well we could do in the afternoon. It was a great afternoon since we pulled plenty of coinage. We located a clad pay streak and the coins kept coming until we were just too worn out to dig any more.
Todays total is a whopping $7.36 and what looks like a mini baseball bat.

Only one weekend left, but we are going to the county fair on Saturday so that only leaves Sunday for a full day of hunting. The new ATpro is supposed to show up tomorrow, could that be a good thing or will the learning curve set me back a few steps? I guess we will find out soon enough. I have a feeling this will be a nail biter for those who guessed over $30

This is copied from the Stories and Pictures section because it was too good to just post here:

I was out detecting with just my son, daughter was running a fever and stayed home with mom. We hit the sportsfield again today to see if there was any clad left in our pay streak. When I turned the detector on I first thought we were getting interfearance from the power lines because it was lit up.

Our very first dig started at the exact spot I turned the machine on and it resulted in 7 clad coins and almost a dollar in face value. The whole time my son is yelling "we got juice in the hole" and "Oh, it's roundness" because yesterday after the epic $7+ day we watched some diggers for the first time on youtube. We slowly made our way along the vein of clad and every few inches there was another tone. It was the well that never ran dry, as fast as we could locate a coin and pop it out with the screw driver the other one of us was already on the next target.

Coin after coin, beep after beep we inched our way along the mother lode. The whole time my son is getting more excited and his voice was getting more and more squeaky. By the end of the day I'm sure dogs in the area were trying to cover thier ears.

So here is the actual pile from todays hunt.

After a complete sorting and a full count we had 132 coins with a face value of $11.80 our biggest day ever (yesterday was also our biggest day until today) and we walked away with the detector still beeping.
