Second day detecting a pre-1895 demolished farmhouse (first day post here).

I got a great "20" signal on the Vanquish 440 near a stone outbuilding foundation. 1891 Indian cent with a square nail.

Rescanned the hole and found a 1917 wheat cent on the surface. I must have launched it out of the hole with my digger. Nice little coin spill.

The Indian cent is in great shape.

Here are the four wheats I found, including the 1917 from the spill.

This is half of a hinged brass makeup compact.

Not sure what the threaded brass thing in the bottom left corner is. Not pictured is my fair share of aluminum junk and a dollar or two in clad, mostly quarters. I think this place has a few more good finds lurking, and maybe even a silver coin if I'm lucky.

I found one of those threaded thing before, my brother told me it was part of drawer or door handle. There would be two of them with a rod between. My brother is always right just ask him.

Good start. Hopefully you can keep getting into it!

Yep, it is on public property so I will be going back many more times. This place is already turning out to be more productive than the last demolished farmhouse I detected. I have a couple more demolished houses to check out as well, no shortage of those around here.

Wow, that is one beautiful IHP, congrats on the finds!

Thanks, definitely the nicest Indian cent I have dug. Hopefully there are few more to be found at this spot.

great pictures !

Thanks, I do my best with the smartphone camera.

It is actually a toilet seat hinge, someone on whatisthisthing on Reddit just identified it for me.

It's part of a toilet lid hinge.

That is correct!

Thanks, yes the Vanquish 440 does a great job. I would only upgrade if I wanted to start water detecting.

Congratulations on the IHP and wheat. Good save on the wheat that popped out.
