OK, I'm going to go out on a limb. While I think there is an eagle in the center of this tinned copper button, it could be my imagination. Meanwhile, there are definitely leaves stamped on the border. I think this button is late 18th century.
Additional finds: three wheat pennies, oldest dated 1919 (my oldest coin find so far), also a 1920 and a 1946. A St Michael's medal (plated copper). A ring, a necklace charm, assorted weird things, and some modern money. Nothing particularly valuable. Almost all from the big green space in front of the mansion.
