Had a guy stop by my house the other day, heard I found a crusty 1916 license plate at our family farm a few years back. He went and retrieved it from my sister, who lives there, worked with another guy who restored it. His ancestors worked the farm from 1866 through 1920 so the plate has interest to him as it once belonged in the family. That plate took me over an hour to retrieve as it was over a foot down below the driveway. It came out great as you can see.

That’s beautiful, is it enamel paint?
I have an old one I found in the backyard. I think it was 1934. I should have it restored.
Believe so. He mentioned the guy who restored it used some type of 3D imaging, using composite to strengthen the weak areas, cost was $200, more than its value but for him since it belonged to his ancestors well...worth it.

one other thing about this particular plate, was advised that the "M" signifies that it's a 'Manufacturer's Plate" making it a rare one. Had to look that one up, but essentially its a plate owned by a dealer or manufacturer transferrable to any vehicle.
