OK, I'm going to go out on a limb. While I think there is an eagle in the center of this tinned copper button, it could be my imagination. Meanwhile, there are definitely leaves stamped on the border. I think this button is late 18th century.

Additional finds: three wheat pennies, oldest dated 1919 (my oldest coin find so far), also a 1920 and a 1946. A St Michael's medal (plated copper). A ring, a necklace charm, assorted weird things, and some modern money. Nothing particularly valuable. Almost all from the big green space in front of the mansion.

Were most of your finds buried fairly deep or shallow? If it's an older property that's been developed there could be a layer of fill dirt covering most of the "value" targets. Keep swinging. Interesting digs for sure.

Most of the money was shallow. The button was a good foot deep. Yep, I’ll attack that same area again. I need to make myself dig more of the trash to find gold.

Like Mark said, there could be fill and the good stuff is deeper. Crank that baby up and see if you find a treasure layer. Good going on the finds you made here.
