Anyone recognize this weird little thing?

Could be brass or gilded copper. It's tiny. But it is the only thing I found today that wasn't just trash. I'm working a colonial farm and in the last few years someone stood pretty much on the spot a Civil War observation post is supposed to be and fired hundreds of rounds of pistol and rifle shots into the nearby field and woods. I find modern brass and modern bullets all day long. So this thing has to be something. (dammit)

Maybe the bottom of the jacket of a jacketed bullet. But if so it's not real old. So hopefully I am wrong

Yeah, looks like the bottom of a bullet after smacking a hard target. If you're already saying you're finding modern bullets it's the icing on the cake for sure.
