Anyone find what I planted at Virginia Beach?

Got me intrigued! Can't wait to find out what they were. My guess is you buried some orange Garret pro pin pointers in hopes up upping your gold finds!

If I was close to Virginia Beach, I'd be hitting the surf while you's other guys are detecting for that .77 cent booty. That's a hell of a distraction technique you have there, Alice.

Obviously it was nothing of importance if you left it, purposely. Good times, but detecting isn't really anything like geocaching.

Edit: It maybe just me and some paranoia, but I don't like this at all. Alice may be perfectly innocent and have proper intentions, but if this becomes a new "game" happening frequently...I could see things getting purposely buried with intentions to hurt the person finding it. The anonymous plantee video recording and laughing as the findee gets hurt is nothing new to this Youtube generation. JMO.

Even in my short detecting time (3 months), I can tell you I've found 8 razorblades in elementary school and city park playgrounds within the woodchip area kids play. That doesn't happen by accident and I don't find THAT funny at all either.

Max or one of his buddies would be the ones to find it I imagine.

I think we all realize that the odds are someone from some other forum or who isn't on forums at all will find this and just move along all the merrier! :D

Most silver rings I find have a melt value of less than $1.00, yet finding 925 is more fun than most coin spills... just sayin'.

I'm thinking it's a beer can, probably unopened. OP narrowed it down to .77 cents, not a coin spill, waiting to see reaction, beach and it's metal. If it is, hopefully some kid doesn't stumble across it digging toy cars into the sand.

I doubt OP would get the reaction she was looking for planting tiny silver on the beach. While a decent find, it's not anything uncommon in that enviroment to get much excited about. Anyone willing to wait long for a reaction, hasn't planted anything common.

I confess

Not really treasure, but this is what is buried: Two clear plastic cent rolls containing mostly Canadian cents dated early 1960's up to the last year they were minted.

I threw in a couple 1958 Lincoln cents (MS-60?) for good measure.

Each roll is in a plastic bag and they are buried separately.

Next summer I'll bury the rest of the Canadians. (That didn't sound right did it?)

Can you come visit where I live and bury stuff? That would be fun! Cool idea, love it!!!

I bombed that guestimate.
Yeah like Kapidr stated...but come to Hawaii and bury stuff here. Preferably high k gold and plat.

Aquaman, Kapidr:

Well...if I'm ever in Hawaii or Renourishville (??) I'll be happy to plant something.

Mr. Novice,
I see your point. I didn't think my "game" might ultimately prompt some sick person into burying something malicious. Sigh...

I still need to get rid of about $10.00 in Canadian cents. Maybe a road trip to Canada?

It's not you dear, you're fine. My "spidey senses" just started tingling when I thought about how this could go wrong. Most like you do truly have good intentions and I applaud that. There will always be a few that take it to harmful extremes just to get a laugh, it's not the same world it used to be unfortunately.

Being Canada is no longer making the cent, I wouldn't mind finding that at all! Hmmm makes me wonder if I might see a Felix as treasure in the future...

Um... NO!
