To start off, I work nights on the rig for the sole purpose of getting up by noon and going out mainly metal detecting but sometimes arrowhead hunting until my shift starts at 5pm......today turned into a dual hunt.
I got permission to metal detect a field west of Ray, ND where an old farmstead once resided. I figured there had to be a coin or two out there but I didn't expect to stumble onto what I think might be a Cody Knife or some other type of Cody artifact. It is 1⅝" long and made from lightly patinated Knife River Flint. The stem edges are faintly ground if at all.
To go back to the detecting I also got a 1948-S Washington and a 1909 wheat. I didn't give the Washington my signature as it was still stuck in a mud chunk when I got it out.
