A little Coinstar success !

where are these magical lands where people still leave coins in the coinstar? So rare to even see modern coins left around here

Coinstar score! It's amazing what you can find in one of those machines if you can beat the store employees to the Coinstar return.

Back when I was a cashier at the gas station there was an absolute zero chance of anyone walking out of there with silver.

I have found one coin in a coinstar. a 2017 dime. Was behind a guy one day and pointed out to him that he had left a bunch of pennies in the reject tray. I could see that was all that was in there and it impressed him that i would tell him.

Was at the grocery store the other day checked Coinstar both on way in and out nothing but dirt and grit , the dry spell continues. People must be checking it frequently because i know it is being used.

I talked to a coinstar employee that was emptying the machine at my local grocery store and he told me that he finds a lot of silver coins on top of the machines he services.
I asked him who in their right mind would grab the coins out of the reject tray and put them on top of the machine, he replied " I never said they were in their right mind" we both laughed then I went home and found a pocket size mirror to add to my arsenal of treasure hunting tools!

I checked my first Coinstar machine earlier this week. There were a few pennies, a few dimes and a silver Rosie, of course (1963). I just took the Rosie.

Beginner's luck, I suppose?

I've been checking the Coinstar for a few weeks now on my weekly trip to the grocery store. I'm up 8 cents so far.

Nice Coinstar saves.
That one silver Rosie is worth more, at today’s silver prices ($1.69) than the face value of your entire haul.

I have a Ziplock sandwich bag half filled already with Coinstar saves for 2021.

nice grab! coinstar coin returns have dried up in North Atlanta past 2 years. Before, I could count on $3-$5 per week with some silver included.

don't know why it had dried up. I still always look and the returns slots are empty.
