Congratulations on an awesome milestone in your lives! You're a good guy to do the cooking when she has to work. I've been married since '83, so I remember it by saying "in '83 I married thee." 38 years.

Neat saying for remembering the year

Well, as far as me doing the cooking it only seemed fair for me to do so over the years, because even before retiring it seemed usually my work hours would have me getting home somewhere about 1-2 hours before she got home so it was simply logical that I would cook supper. After doing about 99% of the cooking all those years it simply became something I kept doing even when I worked a temporary part time job for a while before retiring, and now being retired (at her request ) she still wanted to keep working for now so obviously it is only fair I not only cook but take care of most of the everyday chores too.

The Queen and KT are coming up to 50 this coming May 22nd! Takes a lot of love, caring, patience, and understanding to make it last. Also, having the third pardner, God, in the marriage helps a lot!

I agree that love, caring, understanding and patience is indeed important, but I give the most credit to God as I believe He is the ultimate foundation that has enabled our marriage to stay on solid ground.

.......and thanks for the well wishes for 40 more, hey, I'd be thrilled to have even 30 more years with my wife, and what makes it better is that she feels the same way too, in spite of my faults like my tendency to leave my tools scattered around the house as well as needing to keep the clutter under control better
