1879 homesite Washington State

Sounds like a good spot. If you need any help I can come up that way. Great finds, good job.

So got sidetracked making jerky with the kids. Here is the 1917-s my best find to date. Meant to post last night.

Heading out today after work and starting to grid that spot of that field. Over by homestead

Those four coins all with a hundred yards of each other almost in a straight line.

If I found a seated anywhere I’d hit that spot till I found another

Nice pics and finds!

That is exactly my plan. I have another couple permissions I want to get to but this one is convenient and easy digging. Most areas are really rocky here at older sites but the homestead here had large plowed fields.

Well only got two hours in late last night. It was our youngest ones birthday. Found a old can that was in pieces. Tons of iron and one lonely wheat penny I can’t get a date off of. Heading back today after work.

Not only the great tale of the pictures and background of this site, but also your dedication and commitment in your perspective in detecting this site. Hugh amount of respect for your efforts. Trapper

I too love to research and hunt the "hard way" as some call it... I love your pics and story behind it all . I prefer the old homesite most of the time, but every now and then I'll have to hit a area to get a multiple keeper kind of day! I have already had my first tick of the year ...the joys of hunting those type of areas! HH

Thanks. It has been a ton of work but there really isn’t many options out here. So I just give it my best. Yesterday did 6 hrs there and it was poor for me buddy got a emblem off a 38 Ford express truck.

Thank you. Yeah hopefully this summer I can find another spot that I can get more frequent targets.

So heading to northern Idaho for the Easter weekend. My machine will be with me. I will post if I find anything interesting.

That's so funny! My friend from Oak Harbor as well as myself have been to this exact area in Acme, as well as the school. Only found a couple wheats at the school but the field and homesite were super clean (lots of mixed trashy signals only), you do good work. I found a gallon size glass jug I assume you left where we found it and I told a coworker about the old Ford tailgate and he went and got it same day. This was probably a few months ago that we had gone.

Yeah solid spot. The homesite where you found the tailgate and jug I have hit very hard and a buddy has as well. Still tons of signals but 999 out of 1000 times it’s nails. There are two other old homesites there that I have begun to detect now. Have you ever done anything by ebey landing area on Whidbey? My buddy found some older silver out there.

While in Idaho I did no detecting. Did bring it but couldn’t squeeze in time. The beach at the resort on couer d alene lake looked interesting

Nope, I've never detected on whidbey at all actually. My buddy from Oak Harbor has quite a bit, but I'm not 100% sure on where all he has been or hasn't been. Are you interested in meeting up? We thought about going back to that park to poke around as obviously you've proven it's not empty and worth the hard effort to have even a small chance to find something. Him and I are planning to go out on Sunday the 18th, I believe he has a whites dfx and I myself use a ctx3030 so maybe having multiple types of machines would bring us some luck!

Heading out today. Will post whatever I find. Gonna grid out same spot and go north to south instead of east to west. Will post later.
