1879 homesite Washington State

Great finds so far, wish I had a spot like that 5 minutes from work!

Yeah pretty lucky. Had another permission on a turn of the century house right by there that was the towns first Dr but just sold and they remodeled it. Thought about asking new owners but haven’t. Trying to get permission to this old ccc camp that now is a church camp but get no replies. I have few permissions hate asking.

Went today found a modern combination master lock out by road and a modern nickel worked my way in since I never did by road but just dug trash. Beer cans etc. Going back tomorrow hopefully something pops up.

Well today’s hunting forecast

Gonna be a wet one. I will take a pic of the trash and such.

Looks like you have an amazing spot. Love the seated coin, hard one to find here in WA. Good luck!!!

Yeah it’s great but very few cool finds that’s why I rarely post much but getting a few more permissions now so hopefully some neat things soon. Very happy about the half best coin yet!

So today is was wet and rough

Found some random stuff in the field and a bunch of trash as well as a random condom wrapper which is a first.

Ended up with 26 cents in clad yay. Just a wet no find day. However did do a lil exploring and found the old road to the house.

Are you in the Spokane area? I'm new to pend oreille county

No on the other side of the mountains north of Seattle. But there’s a cool spot called farragut state park you can detect at. Actually I will be in CDa next weekend but not to detect unfortunately but will be out there this summer to detect.

Well checked out a new spot today with a buddy that is a supervisor for the parks dept this spot is old, rarely visited except by the coyotes.

If I find anything at this site of significance I will start a thread like this. But however this spot on this thread is still my main spot do to ease

Oh and here is yesterday’s journey. Didn’t find much except trash clad and iron but here is the best find. The original road into the homestead.

So yesterday got bored in the field. So decided to follow some elk trails and try and find the old homestead road and guess what. First noticed the old springboard whipsaw cut cedars

And then boom.

As you can see in this photo as well as others we have western hemlock, alder, maple, cedar, aspen, fir, and other overgrowth reclaiming the site.

So carried on found a dead hawk maybe juvenile eagle

I then found the grade after confirming online and with some maps I have printed.

Here’s the road.

So hopefully can find the other three spots where homes were skidded up from the river in the late 1800’s due to flooding

Well haven’t posted anything cause all I found over past few days is clad, iron, trash. Nothing too impressive. Heading out this morning to the new spot and another old farm that is from turn of the century. Hopefully will have something to show today.

Off topic question appears that the treasure net forum is more used is that correct? I setup an account there but don’t want to post on both really. Do most here just post on here or both?

Well weather was same as today’s results, trash. Super windy and wet. Oh and crashed drone first time in 3 years of owning.

So boy was today amazing. AMAZING!!!

So now that I am finding stuff on these spots and after thinking my research was just not good enough I have been considering doing videos based on the last 3 months. Today I experimented with some drone footage and I also filmed majority of my digs with phone which was a pain in the ass. I can’t imagine with the rarity of finding significant finds here in Washington it would be worth actually justifying a go pro for metal detecting. But today was one of them. If there is a way to upload non YouTube that would be great. May need to cut my language. But anyhow on to today.

So today I headed out with a bit of gear (drone, jetboil, water, trash bag etc) so brought the pack and took off

If I knew how there would be some epic drone shot I took inserted here going into what now I am referring to as the “honey hole” section however only took video which I still need to upload to laptop or phone. Anyhow started with some trash and then started hitting some iron then nails. And after a bit got a strong 24 at about 4 to 6” deep. And boom.....
