Interesting jd, I've never paid much attention to my Indian Heads before.

Guess I better go through them again.

Very nice looking coin and one to be proud of for sure, it in great shape. Although many of the older coins have a slight DD effect to them, reason being the presses and stampers they used long ago were not nearly as precise as the ones of today. Still, that one terrific coin!

Very nice - nice to get one in such good condition from the ground and a rare variety to boot. Around here copper doesn't survive that well. Excellent pics also.

J.D. do you have pictures of that Spanish coin with the hole in it that you believed was made on a proof planchet? If so can you post that one for us?

no werstern it was an 1820 capped bust dime real shiny and mirror like I posted it asking if people thought i might be a proof but it turned out to be a silver plated brass counterfiet coin which was pretty neat i found an 1845 pewter counterfiet seated dime also both of their pics are supposed to be in books Gerry Fortin is using my conterfiet seated dime in his book "contemporary counterfiet coins of the 19th century" so Im happy about them... :)

Even those have collector value, say did you ever hear of those Yocum dollars, they were made in Missouri. I heard there was a cache of them found, what's the scuttlebut on them if you heard anything on them while you lived in Missouri?

i've heard of them.. western you how those stories go.. i hear of cashes being found almost everyday around here lol lol... this week somebody found 4 large milk cans buried in the ground filled with silver and gold coins about a 1/2 hour from me and his buddy found 12 mason jars filled with paper money too...:)
i would love to find a yocum dollar that wuld be cool..

What research I've done does show the family lived in the region. But I keep the stories brief.

J.D.,

You sure have a great collection and earned every one of them. Thanks for sharing the pictures and information with up. Best of luck with your future hunts.
