That's all you can do, i wouldn't put to much effort into it, as it most likely would take a lot of time , and effort, good luck in 2018, Earl PS waiting 4 that warm up to come, 18 degree's dirt diving isn't happening :laughing:

If you track a family member down and return it at the grave site that would be one of the top stories for 2018 I'm sure! GOOD LUCK!!!
 
That dog tag is an interesting find CW. And then you tied it into the veteran's head stone.

It is too weird that it has a bullet hole through it. I'm sure the veteran did that for some odd reason.

Please let us know if you find his family and maybe the answer to the bullet hole in the tag will make sense.

Sweet find CW good luck with the family search. Good eye man. I've had to train myself to take a closer look at things before discarding. It's so easy to miss something.
