$$$$ Would you return it?

You are the one that brought it up and put his name back out there with the missing ring story.

Look guy... It's quite obvious you made this thread to create drama, not for "your info only" and even more obvious what it stemmed from. I'll let this be though. No need to beat the horse any longer!

I have only found two class rungs in over thirty years of detecting. One was a silver ring from a town almost 1300 miles away. The other was a ladies gold ring from 1927. The M.O.P. stone had almost completely dissolved after all that time in the ground. Neither had any name or initials in them. I'm not going to call some school and ask "Did someone lose a class ring in 19**? If it had a name or even initials I would do my best to find the owner. I would check ads but not post finding one. It would be like going up to a stranger and saying, "I found a fifty dollar bill the other day. Is it yours?" I have nothing against returning any ring to the rightful owner but I won't hand it to just anyone. I found a diamond ring that had been reported lost and returned it. I didn't even get a thank you but I knew it wasn't mine. I wasn't raised that way.

It is for my info only.
why would you want this "info".. Ive seen you stick your nose in someone business on here once when it came to an expensive ring already.. I cant help but think you'll do it again, id like to know your real reason for making this thread

Alright mr attitude you said whats on your mind, Now if you don't have something positive to contribute to the thread then move on. If you want to dig up old bones i will assure you that can happen as well. Your choice!!!!

I would definitely research down the owner! A $30 000 RING!
I would go to the address ... at night.. through the skylight... and take the rest of their expensive jewelry!....:p just kidding.... It would be straight off to A.R.A. for me!

I dont have an attitude, text can be taken out of context.. Sorry but after seeing what you did before and now saying the reason you made this is its for your own info.. Its suspect

Shouldn't be suspect of anything. If i wanted to stir the pot as someone mentioned i would have started the thread with a name and pictures. Once again a valid question i just want to know how many would return and how many would not.

If a ring has a name on the inside I would return it. If I knew of a lost ring and found it I'd return it. That being said, I'm not searching high and low to try and find an owner. I never look at ads for lost rings so it's unlikely I would find out that way. I found a girls class ring many years ago (2001-ish) and it was a 1976 class ring with a full name on the inside. I just started calling people from that town with that name (it wasn't a common name) and eventually got the girls mom. The girl was now a lady living a few towns over with a family of her own. The mom give her my number, I got a call minutes later and she couldn't believe I had found her ring. This happened 2 weeks before her 25th high school reunion. She came, got the ring, gave me a big hug and $100. At least she had a great story for her reunion. That experience went well and I wouldn't hesitate to return more given the opportunity.
