What is your guess...

I sold my ski boat back in 1975...what a happy day that was. (I still miss it!)
I never took chemistry, I am at a loss.
I can not even carry a note in my pocket so a slide will do me no good.
I have not had a Vienna Sausage is many years. I off to the store for sure. And a stop at KCs sounds good also.

I am thinking a video while I open it.

It wouldn't be a keeper or locking pin of any kind being hollow..

Looks like the welds were ground down, so it's possible it was slightly important to maintain the 1" OD..

Might have been fabbed up to go into a socket/pocket, and stick out enough to fit another tube over it.. For example, a tube that's the same size as the hole, that piece could serve as an adapter so nether piece would have to be permanently modified...

The fact that its sealed and hollow says a lot...For weight, waterproof container, so it floats? A piece of solid 1" stock would be easier to make for most other purposes..

Who knows?

<°)))>{

Im going Austin powers "mojo"

I'm just guessing its some type pin to reduce weight. Such as maybe a sailing vessel?

Does this remind anyone but me of MLs roll out of the Nox or one of those singing shows where it takes forever? Just open the darn thing already.... ive got to go to the bath room and dont want to miss it.

Two days and counting...

SoOregonMD: I am not a Ash Taster, But if you know of a Royal Food Taster, I could use his services on Saturday. As for KFC, it has been some 11 years since I crossed their threshold.

Ice Scratcher: Again you have amazed me...an internal coupling for two outer pipes. The grind is definitely NOT professional, a home hack at best. Sorry, but is does not float.

itsaring: Not too many sailing vessels in the Navy these days and I never saw one of these on a submarine.

Dewcon: they do make port-a-poties just for once in a lifetime happening like this. Did I mention I found it with an Equinox 800??????? Maybe I'll submit it as a Find of the Year to Minelab.

I'VE GOT IT!!!!

If you look at the clues it's obvious

You found it with an Equinox 800

The Equinox has to do with the position of the sun relative to Earth. The ancients (think stonehenge) knew this.

It was an 800....800 years ago = 1218...The siege of Damieta was in 1218...the Templars set sail in March, 1218 and arrived at the port at Acre in MAY, 1218 (almost exactly 800 years earlier than today)

The Templars, as we all know, buried a vast treasure at Oak Island.

If you look at the picture you posted, you'll see some lines on the tube...EXACTLY corresponding to "Nolan's Cross". Although to be fair, the crossing might reference the "crossing" of the two parts of the year, signified by the...you guessed it, EQUINOXES (spring and summer)

I think you've found the map to the treasure.

Cue the narrator.

Do I see a diagonal line running around the middle? Couldn't open in the middle. could it?
I'll guess that the same thing is in it as was in Samuel L. Jackson's briefcase in Pulp Fiction.

Anti-Climax

YES...
I am still alive! There was no need for 911, ambulance, State Police, or HazMat, A real let down as there was not even an ash of a pet, no finger, ring, money, jewelry, drugs, contraband, NOTHING! But air.

Thanks to all that got my hopes up and aided in letting my mind go wild for a week. It was fun for me, again Thanks.

Photos of the not so grand opening.
