Traveling by plane

Is it safe to take an Equinox 800 on a plane? I am just wondering since the detector has rechargeable lithium Ion batteries.
Should I discharge the batteries beforehand?

FWIW, I take my Garrett ATMax and Propointer lots internationally and frequently with lithium Energizers in AA and 9 volt. Don't recall having an issue yet.

I'm going to England to detect for two weeks in September, I was just planning on packing it.

Hope these help, but I'd check with the airline(s) that you are flying on also... they may have their own policy.

I'm always concerned that if I put the detector in carry on that they'll see the shaft as a "club". I've always taken the pod off, but I hate doing it.
