Someone earlier in the post said they were jealous of the European detectors. While I understand and even share that sentiment to an extent, this post is pretty powerful in how it humanizes the soldiers that are sometimes easier to refer to as "the enemy". For everyone of those helmets there was a family back home waiting for their son. Like a museum attached to a hobby we all enjoy. Thank you so much for continuing to share.
Nice finds Left. By the way, I am reading a book on drug use by the Third Reich and the majority of the book concentrates on stimulant use. The specific drug is called Pervitin. I was wondering if you ever find any evidence of stimulant pills being found among the personal belongings?
I know it's been over 70 years but maybe if in a container, they could still be there. Millions were distributed to the troops.
