U S flat button

Is it true this button was only made 1808-1830? I'm trying to guesstimate the age of a site I am hunting. I'm really hoping it's pre civil war by several years. I found 2 other buttons. One is a Scovills and says Extra Rich. The other just says Double Gilt.

Your picture is kind of fuzzy/grainy, but if it's what I think it is, That is known as a "Great Coat Button". Look up "Great Coat button" on google images, and you'll see what I mean.

Those are hard to find (in CA at least). Nice job !

Hard to find anywhere, congrats. Yep Great Coat Button 1820 - orders as late as 1839
