Stavr makes a nice scoop...But is it worth the hassle? UPDATE post #37

About 4 years ago I seen Stravs scoops on the other forum when they first came out. Some of the best looking out there but I never went the route because warranty, and the distance.

Amazing Now I know 3 guys that build scoops...One of our own here gave me a great scoop for my retirement that I use in the bay ever hunt...Frank (FSA).....Thanks Buddy

For the record, my scoop was tied up in customs ( NY ), longer than it took to arrive in the USA. I also went to a large grocery store that had WU , paid the $22.00 and didn't have any problems.

You're welcome OBN, hope you enjoy many years using that scoop and :congras: on your retirement.

I understand that some time after the payment (5 months), the company mediator is trying to cheat the ? or is it a problem W U?

tell how this will end

Thanks for the discussion

I sure will. So far I have called WU, they gave me an email address to email a copy of the letter from the collection agency to along with an explanation. I did that Friday, and I am still waiting to hear from WU. I also tried to send an email on WU customer service site and it will not send. As of right now I am still waiting to hear from WU. I am sure I will have another call for the collection agency today.

Thankfully you were paid and WU or whoever is not trying to come after you to get the money back. This whole thing is a joke, but time consuming.

The whole situation is a nightmare...you don't need that kind of stress
And think of the resources they've now spent to recover a relatively small amount. Maybe they're run by a division of the government...

This is why I will drive the 10 minutes to RTG Store and pay cash and have the scoop in hand the same day! None of this WU stuff to worry about...

Payment/shipping/warrenty

My experience with Chuck-Steath scoops, has been great, took a check, shipped UPS, received on the 3rd day, lifetime warrenty, never been happier,CS,since you stated that I didn't help anyone,i am on your turf, would you like to try out a Stealth Sugarsand hybrid 1/4 in holes with no sad stories :laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

discussed here work payment systems in the U.S. ...

Your check for Chuck and others also could be Missed ...

This thread has a pretty misleading title. Anyone reading it would assume that it is Stavr giving you the "hassel" (sic) and not Western Union. I realize of course that you've used Western Union to buy a scoop from Stavr but that's kind of like somebody being given the runaround by Paypal and then starting a thread: "(Insert dealer/manufacturer here) is nice....but it is worth the hassle"?

Anyways, hope it all gets sorted out.

Maybe this was explained already, but why doesn't he use paypal? Thought paypal was able to be used worldwide?

I did not intend to mislead anyone. I shared my experience of what I ordered, Stavr scoop., how long it took to get it, 3 months, and what happened after it was paid for, Western Union. I think the title said just what happen. People can learn from my experience and make up there own minds, or gloat and feel good about themselves for what they bought and how they paid for it.

I didn't bash the Scoop instead I said "nice" scoop. I do like the scoop, no complaints there and my order is probably 1 in 10,000.

Some good came out of this post for others, DO NOT use Western Union online. Go to the grocery store with cash and receive a signed receipt from a large grocery chain.

UPDATE: I have made numinous calls and sent emails to WU. After a week, unless I can get to someone in management, no one can find my conformation number in the system. All emails have gone unanswered. The fraud division of WU tells me that I have not been placed for collection and they think it is a scam. However no one at WU will give me anything in writing (email) so I can turn this over to our local Sheriff Dept, fraud division.
In the mean time I am getting calls everyday from the collection agency so yesterday I jumped in their caca and gave them all the names of who I have spoken with and emailed at WU. If they call again, I will turn it over the Sheriff's dept and let them handle it. I'm through messing with this unless I am contacted by WU.

The money has not been debited from my account, but WU will not confirm what is going on or who the collection agency is and I will not release any financial information to a 3rd party.

Local Service Local Delivery

As a sailor, The west coast has a lot of Catalina sailboats in the
Harbors. The east coat has a lot of Beneteau sail boats in the harbor.
Guess which boat is made on what coast?

My point is, like scoops, unless there is something special feature you just have to have delivery and service wins out.

I fell in love with an Australian scoop until I looked at delivery time and delivery price.

I thought from the picture, the stealth looked flimsy, but delivery was three days, and it looked great in person.

No scoop wars, as an understanding of how hard it is to resolve issues, when you can't just pick up a phone

I went to WU in person to send my payments for my scoops, and used my debit card for that . I did it twice since I have 2 scoops ,never had a problem . Love my scoops ,been using them hard in the tough conditions in the sand full of rocks ,chunks of iron ,large rocks and just regular sand ,do not really see any signs of wear and tear .....very light as well.
If I ever need another scoop it is going to be Stavr . Period

What type of warranty does a stavr scoop come with? If it breaks or a weld goes bad will he absorb the cost of sending it back to the Ukraine, rewelding it and then mailing it back to the customer?

3 months warranty for manufacturing defects (replacement or repair).
redelivery to Ukraine by the user, redelivery to USA it's my expenses.

but in 5 years, and more than 300 scoops of sold in the U.S. were only 2 cases of defect (cracking), and both more than 1-2 year increase in the exploitation (can you say every day)
Both scoop repaired on the spot TIG welding
