I have been doing this a long time and have never found a silver dollar. A bucket lister for sure. What a beauty and a thrill to dig. Looks like you have a couple of great sites. Enjoy and keep sharing!

Thought I would add the results of my last outing this year. Was a totally different kind of hunt. I went out with a metal detecting virgin, I spent a lot of time sharing info and giving directions. This was not like hunts with Air Force Mike, Dewsweeper or IDX Monster. This was a complete beginning for a guy that just had interest but lacked courage to make the attempt. Well I can say this was a surprising success as after about 45 minutes and a couple coin recoveries i think I have created another hunting friend as this guy waved off the help and wanted to fly solo. Hope this interest continues and we have another sharing member to add to this forum. I did have a couple of finds myself. A older Merc and a Sterling Horsreshoe Ring. Trapper

So the new guy is off and running...uh oh! I’m gonna have to throw him a chop block to try and make sure he doesn’t get outta hand...

Hoping I can get one woods hunt in before the new year arrives. Not having a vehicle this last couple weeks has been a real handicap. Still the pantry is filled with canned venison and I have built some cherished memories chasing those shiny coins. Bruce, hope you and yours have a great holiday season and I hope tomore of a challenge to you this coming year.

It has been a fantastic year Kevin, started off really nice with a great run and with just a short lull in the summer the rest of the year has been very productive. Thank you for sharing in a lot of those fine memories. This next year I think will be a very good one for me. Seeing time will not be so unavailable. Got a few goals that need to be reached in 2018 and I hope you, Brad, Brett and Mike can join me for a lot of new adventures along the way. Trapper

Ouch! I’ll admit to being a Sally if it means I don’t have to have my toes amputated cuz they turned all kinds of colors...I don’t know how many layers I have on in that pic but it’s ALOT! Union suit,long sleeve shirt,sweatshirt,coat...I think. When my car doesn’t want to start,it’s not good for detecting! WAAAHHHhHhHH!!! I don’t wannnnnnaaaaaaaa.....WAAAAAAHHHH!!

Thanks Jeff, the wife and I butchered what we could. Got some good Steaks and with the two I got during season we canned over 70 jars of venison. Should last me until Spring.

Earl, your right they can do a heck of a lot of damage. This is not the first I have hit but it has been the most costly. The loss of time and the inconvenience sure takes a toll.

I think that crazy idea for this weekend is gone Brad. But maybe next? Weather is not cooperating and I still have not got the car back. Christmas with the kids has been put on hold and I'm sure the grand kids are not to happy waiting. Guess I will not get that last hunt of the year but then again it could be the first hunt of the new year. Trapper

Hey! There is no crying in metal detecting..... or baseball. And I know your not a Sally. Have a woods for us all to hunt if I can get a little weather cooperation. Dew's said he and Bret are up for it. Love to get Mike out with us if it happens.
