I was on a trail run on an old forest road near my home when I spotted daffodils in the woods and upon checking them out found a cellar hole. Home was on map in at least 1932. I hiked 1 1/2 miles back in yesterday and planned on 2-3 hours but had to stop after an hour and hike back out to help family.
Tons of iron but pulled a ceramic doorknob and other odds and ends. The prize was this ornate iron piece 3 x 2 inches.
I think the mounting holes on top and bottom are key to ID’ing it. The decorations include one dogwood flower and leaves and scrolls. All help appreciated.

Wow, I like that idea. I’m wondering if the hole for the rod is large enough but do see examples with very small pendulum rods.
The 6 or 9 on the back could be weight related. I’ll weigh it soon. Thanks for the idea. Now I have somewhere to start

I have had a few clocks where the pendulum rods were around 1/8" diameter with the bottom end threaded. There were brass knurled barrel nuts that the actual pendulum rested on to adjust the moment/time of the clock.

Clock pendulum weight.
Could this be it?

This weight looks very similar
That is very close
I have been told it is a kitchen clock pendulum weight. I have searched dozens of these kitchen clocks and found many pendulums similar. A Waterbury clock from 1890 was very close and has dogwood flower motif.
There is also a clock parts site selling reproductions exactly like mine.
I like the piece very much and hope to get back to that cellar hole and find other parts.
I appreciate all of the responses
