Old scout camp hunt today

My buddy got permission for us to hunt an old boys scout camp. The place is enormous but when I found a spot that was giving up wheat pennies I stayed put. Glad I did! I had a coin spill with a a war nickel, mercury dime, and silver Washington. Nearby that I found the silver scout ring, and the neckerchief slide. My buddy found two silver coins too.

Boy scouts are the perfect age and so active they lose damn near everything. Great hunt need to go back there.

Nice finds, I dug a silver Boy Scouts ring very similar to yours last year. Mine has a lot more wear than yours does though.

From what I can find the camp opened over 75 years ago. It’s still active and there’s a full time ranger that lives on the grounds. Really nice guy, we can only hunt there when he gives us the okay. The area also has colonial history, maybe hiding some of those fabled eastern large cents
