IMPORTANT! A funny and good thing I noticed...without the headphones, the handle actually vibrates due to the speaker being in the grip....the sound vibrations are transmitted right into your hand! so a guy can use this rig totally deaf! Or even in the dead of night to easily pinpoint the target by hopping coil! That was really cool! Like a vibra wand kind of feature!
YES! I noticed this too and it's really kinda cool. I don't think they engineered it into the design but it sure is nice.
Right?! I'm sure it wasnt thought out this way, just on account of the speaker vibes transmitting through the grip! I will say...I bet a guy could hunt with this wading with the brain underwater and no headphones on account of he will feel the vibes....Its an interesting side feature for sure...
You can't force one detector to be something different. Minelab cut the weight as much as possible, but you cant really cut coil weight without turning it into a buoy in the water. You also arent going to be able to modify YOUR body mechanics to compensate for the front weight. You can't hold that beer stretched out in front of you for long without arm fatigue, its just facts.
So, your options are to shorten the shaft, or mount a counter balance under the arm cuff. Both have the same effect of moving the weight balance farther back.
My Wife got fooled by a sweet sounding screwoff 40yrs ago, and She has a pretty high discrimination setting, reject and notch out capability, low threshold factory settings even!...
I found early on the Nox was quite chatty and couldnt figure it out UNTIL I watched a youtube video. My Iphone I keep in my front pocket was actually interfering with the the machine. I simply turn the iphone on Airplane mode while using and problem solved.
