Hello all;
I've been swinging a coil for about twenty years or so now and for all the days spent at the beach I've found precious few rings. Have decided on updating my equipment from the Garrett Sea Hunter 500XLT PI to an Aquanaut or more likely (OUCH!) an Excalibur1000. I like the idea of a top of the line detector in my hand, and for beach use I am hearing of no other machines to match them. I have pics of some of the rings I've dug but they are not in focus, if I can get'em focused I'll try and post'em.
Looking forward to reading your posts on beach hunting. I used to wade in rib deep water but I don't have the stamina for much of that any more.
Good Hunting Everyone.

Welcome to the forum.You'll love it here,friendly helping people abound.
If you liked your pi machine,why not update that to aWhites PI Pro.It seems alot of people are useing and enjoying useing that machine.

Hermit;
I have for a while suspected that my Sea Hunter misses some smaller, deeper targets and by deeper I mean anything past 6 inches. My finds (although I did find 2 nice men's wedding bands but no other good stuff) over numerous hours worth of hunting a Myrtle Beach stretch lead me to believe I'm not hearing all the targets I should be, even at minimal discrimination levels. Also I believe that due to the age of the Sea Hunter, there HAVE to be some more effective machines to have hit the market in the past ten or fifteen years.
Whattya think?

Welcome to the forums. Either the Whites Pi or Excal are both excellent choices. Definitely an upgrade from the Seahunter.
Let me know if I can be of any help to you.

Welcome to the forum. I look forward to seeing the finds you will be making no matter what machine you settle on.

GABeachswinger I know what you mean.I just went through the same senerio.There are alot of updated machines out there.Some of them cost quite a bundle also.I searched,researched,ask questions,read reviews,checked what other people used for good results and so on.Here is what I came up with.Most beach/water hunters are using the Whites PI Pro.Minelab Excalibur or Fisher CZ-20.I found a Fisher for a song,so I went
with that! Any of those 3 would do you a great job on the GA,SC,NC coast.
